Dosages: Ideally, MSM should be taken in equal dosages in the morning and late afternoon (preferably with breakfast and dinner). 1000 mg per day of Vitamin C should be taken along with the MSM, because they work together. We recommend that people begin taking MSM in small dosages (800 - 1600 mg per day) and increase it gradually up to 3000 - 8000 mg per day over a period of about 2 - 3 weeks. The reason for this is that MSM has a detoxifying effect. This means that any toxins stored in the body can be released by the MSM. This can cause temporary headaches, minor skin problems, and minor digestive problems for a small percentage of people. But, this is good! It means that they are eliminating poisons which could harm them.
After 3 weeks, the daily dosage should be determined by experimentation. You do not need to be concerned about overdosing Daily dosages normally fall within the range of 3000 - 8000 mg per day.
